WVBC Planning Two New Leagues....

The WVBC is beginning with plans to move forward on activities of interest from the survey. Results indicated that the billiards activity with the most votes is "women only" Singles 8 Ball Leagues for Advanced Beginners and Intermediate players.

By the way, for those of you not familiar with billiards lingo, singles indicates a one on one match, not that you must be unmarried or unattached to participate as you do in " Baby Boomer singles club" activities. :-)

Diana Pantino stepped up and offered to lead an Advanced Beginner League and Sue Moore will lead a new Intermediate Level League while Kathy Gittings offered to help. Details of the new WVBC leagues will be decided over the next few weeks.

Anyone interested in participating should contact the WVBC and let us know:
  1.  what your skill level is
  2. what day(s) is best for you
  3. whether you prefer morning or afternoon
  4. If you are available for a summer session or only next fall

WVBC General Assembly & Survey Results Meeting Drew 40 women!

The WVBC held it's first official General Assembly meeting on Saturday, April 25th and revealed their survey results to a group of 40 women billiards players. There were many familiar faces in the room but the Daily Sun article brought us 10 new faces and we welcome them to the fold.

The meeting was led by WVBC chair Gale Bellew and covered  who the WVBC is, results of the survey, how the WVBC is moving forward, and collected names of women who are interested in being a part of the two new leagues which will be forming for Advanced Beginners and Intermediate Singles (individual) play. More to come on that subject soon.

For those of you who missed our meeting, here is the link to our survey results.

More later,

Gale Bellew
WVBC Chair
